Cincinnati Guardianship Lawyers
Guardian of Person or Guardian of Estate
Guardianships are a way to protect vulnerable people and their assets. The Probate Court monitors guardianships to be sure the guardians are indeed protecting the people involved.
At the Schimpf, Ginocchio, and Kehres Co., LPA, law firm, our experienced Cincinnati guardianship attorneys can help you establish a guardianship. In some cases, our clients ask us to serve as guardians.
Guardianships give the necessary authority to those caring for minor children and acting in the place of their parents. The parents may have died or may, for some other reason, be unable to care for their children. Adults may also need guardians because of an inability to manage finances or a need for assistance with living.
One guardian may handle daily living and medical decisions and another may handle financial decisions. In some cases, a single guardian handles both.
Ohio Trust Administration Lawyers
When someone who owns a Trust dies, a Trustee needs to gather and hold the assets, and, in some cases, invest the assets. Trust administration may be for the short term (until a beneficiary reaches a certain age, for example) or for the long term (for a special needs trust, for example). The Trustee is responsible for abiding by the terms of the trust and making all necessary disclosures to the beneficiaries.
